Dr. Elizabeth Baker is a Board Certified physiatrist who specializes in the non-operative treatment of spinal conditions and musculoskeletal disorders. As a former dancer, she has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting dancers and musicians. She has expertise in a variety of injections for the spine, muscles (trigger points and botox), and joints. She is also proficient in the use of platelet-rich plasma, a new and promising technique for chronic tendonitis. Conservative treatment also may include the use of medications and exercise for pain management. Treatment plans are individualized according to the patient's diagnosis, medication conditions, and specific goals.
Dr. Baker is a graduate of Harvard University where she completed her major in Biology. She went on to pursue medical studies at Columbia University in the College of Physicians & Surgeons. Internship in Internal Medicine and Residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation were completed at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center.
Board Certifications include Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation; Pain Medicine; Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She is currently the Medical Director of Rehabilitation Medicine at Englewood Hospital and Assistant Clinical Professor of Rehabilitation at Columbia University.
In her spare time, Dr. Baker enjoys running, dance, tennis, golf, skiing, cooking, traveling and keeping up with her two boys. Dr. Baker was born in Puerto Rico and is fluent in Spanish.

Fellowship in Interventional Spine Procedures and Sports Medicine
Dr. Marrinan is a Board Certified physiatrist with fellowship training in non-surgical spine treatments and sports medicine. He specializes in diagnosing and treating spinal disorders (including arthritis, herniated discs, and sciatica) and other muscloskeletal problems. He is experienced in electrodiagnosis (EMG and nerve conduction studies) and in a variety of interventional spine procedures such as epidural steroid injections, nerve block injections, spinal joint injections, and radiofrequency nerve ablation (rhizotomy). He will also prescribe physical therapy and a home exercise program, with conservative use of medication when appropriate.
Dr. Marrinan's goal with each patient is to establish a definitive diagnosis and implement a personalized treatment plan. He will perform a thorough history and physical exam, including the interpretation of x-rays, MRIs, and other diagnostic tests. He believes non-invasive treatments should generally be tried first, and will recommend injections only when necessary.
Dr. Marrinan graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor's degree in Biology and then attended the Boston University School of Medicine for a Master's degree in Medical Science. He received his MD degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. He then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital, Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, and Fellowship in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine at the Spine Institute and Orthopedic Rehabilitation Department of Beth Israel Medical Center, all in New York City.
He was born in New York and lives in Greenwich Village with his wife and two cats. His spare time is generally spent playing guitar, reading, traveling, and scuba diving.

Dr. Herera has had a varied career spanning many interests. He initially was a television news cameraman in San Diego and Los Angles, covering the breaking news stories of the day. He covered a variety of stories and his travels took him to the White House, Hollywood, and professional sports championship games, like the Super Bowl, NBA, and Major League Baseball playoffs.
He saw through his work experience the daily repetitive activities that can lead to musculoskeletal dysfunction. As a former surfer, runner and cyclist he had first hand knowledge of how we can over train and sustain injuries.
This led him to pursue a career in medicine.
He is a Board certified Physiatrist, with experience in musculoskeletal injuries and gait dysfunctions, initially trained as a Chiropractor, he has valuable experience in spinal manipulation.
After a thorough history and physical he may prescribe a short course of medications to alleviate the pain and muscle spasms that limit activity, Physical therapy, joint or trigger point injections and spiral mobilization are also treatment options.
His training included an undergraduate degree from San Diego State University in Radio-Television & Film, Journalism and English. He attended Medical School at St. Georges University School of Medicine and spent his internship year at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center.
His specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation was obtained at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center.
Dr. Herera is married and has three children; he is also fluent in Spanish.
